The project aims to rethink the current user experience in the hospitality industry. With the use of augmented reality (AR) we are challenged to better the hospitality we see in a hotel today.

Phase one of the project required us to work in pairs to uncover how a hotel functions on a daily basis. Teaming up with Aderes, we went to explore numeral hotels including Mandarin Orchard and Ascott Hotel.
"Wayfinding and housekeeping aspect of a hotel becomes prominent areas to look into because -
Embracing the role of being a fly on the wall, it helped us to unfold the different layers that make a hotel. From the experience of entering a hotel to identifying the main lobby, we figured that there are indeed still gaps in the existing wayfinding and housekeeping that can be addressed through AR.
Phase two of the project challenged us to look at the types of opportunities we can potentially use as a starting point to our design solution. We mapped the design principles uncovered through our ethnographic phase and listed down a couple of design recommendations/solutions we can eventually adopt.
While mapping out the potential flow of the application, we felt like there was a missing perspective from the housekeepers. The clarity behind how hotel rooms are packed becomes significant. Luckily, we managed to get the contact of an existing housekeeper and found out the manual and tedious process behind defects record, item inventory and item changed. The clipboard is being held on by the housekeeper who needs to report this information to the facility manager by the end of their duty.
Phase three of the project quickly moved on to the user flow development and prototyping phase of the application design process.

After experimenting with the user flow, we went ahead to draft out how might the application ease the tedious process of the facilities management sector and the housekeepers in a hotel.
Phase four of the project involved touching up on minor details and finalising our visionary concepts.
